Phantasialand remains a top-notch location, especially when the weather is as great as it was on the 19th of March, when we attended the conference with three Viaboxx team members. Attendance figures increased again in comparison to last year as one could already notice by the parking situation. More than 2, IT specialists and developers attended the conference in its 6th year, which is a new record again. The first Javaland in started with participants. The topics were very divers and often not directly linked to Java, frequently evolving around microservices and cloud, Docker, Kubernetes etc.

That the Java community is absolutely fantastic is no secret and has already been proven several times at JavaLand in Phantasialand. But this year, it has outdone itself with more than submitted presentations. As a result, the event once again recorded an overwhelming participation and renewed growth. A total of submissions were received for the conference programme, which the committee is currently examining with a critical expert eye. That is one quarter more than last year. The newcomer programme for speakers without stage experience also attracted great interest with 60 entries for comparison: 23 in This time, the stream managers will be spoilt for choice between 37 submissions from 23 partners for the training day. Not an easy decision, but all participants can already look forward to the finished conference programme, which will be published online at the end of September.
