Lindsay Lohan's upcoming film The Canyons is "fascinating" and has a "spectacular sex scene", according to Steven Soderbergh. The erotic thriller, starring Lohan and porn actor James Deen, has received public criticism, most recently when it was reportedly rejected by the SXSW film festival over "quality issues". In a recent New York Times article chronicling the film's troubled production, it was reported that the movie's producer Braxton Pope asked Soderbergh to look over director Paul Schrader's rough cut. The piece goes on to describe Soderbergh offering to produce his own edit of the film, and Schrader rejecting the Magic Mike helmer's input.
