After getting to the eleventh mission of the game the Cloaked of Silence you will have your first chance to meet Quiet. Your mission will be defeating her in a duel which will happen in Aabe Shifap Ruins in Afghanistan. You may read about the details of this duel in our walkthrough however we would like to remind you that you may win also by taking down her entire health bar by with, for example, a sniper rifle or a rocket launcher or by taking down her entire endurance bar with, for example, a stunning weapon or by sending against her some supply drops. After defeating Quiet you have to get close to her. Better wait for Big Boss to hide his gun and lift her from the ground. Take Quiet to the helicopter which will take you to the ruins where you will be able to watch a long cutscene showing your return to Mother Base and putting Quiet in the prison.

The boss fight against the Skulls may have been a relatively action-packed way to start off Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain , but the game's second true boss fight is far more traditional than its predecessor. On top of that, the fight against a sniper known as Quiet isn't just a great boss battle, but it'll net you one of Snake's most powerful allies. However, as with the fight against the Skulls, the sniper duel with Quiet seemingly comes out of nowhere - as a result, unprepared players can find themselves up against a foe they can't even touch. Never fear: if you've been sniped more times than you'd care to admit, this guide is for you. Plus, it'll show you how to recruit Quiet, too - meaning that you'll guarantee her services later on in the game. Considering her importance to the story, the fight against Quiet could be considered spoiler territory: so, if you want to go into the fight completely blind, hold off on reading this guide until you need it.

Created by Hideo Kojima , designed by Yoji Shinkawa , and based on and played by Stefanie Joosten , Quiet appears in the action-adventure stealth game , Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain as one of the game bosses opposing the protagonist Venom Snake , but can also become an ally who can go on missions with him. The character is a skilled assassin and sniper with superhuman abilities belonging to the covert strike force XOF , a rogue division of the American intelligence agency Cipher. Depending on the player's actions, she can be captured by Venom Snake and eventually used as a member of his Diamond Dogs mercenary group. Quiet's design and character received a mixed response. Many Western critics reacted negatively to Quiet's design, considering it oversexualized , whereas some defended it by citing her backstory. In regards to the visual design, Kojima remarked that he was striving for a unique character, not simply eroticism. Joosten also defended the character in a pre-release interview, asking players to see the story first. Quiet has become a popular character to cosplay. When Big Boss awakens in a Cyprus hospital from a coma in , Quiet is one of many soldiers sent by Cipher to kill him.
Quiet wore a minimal amount of clothing at all times because she could only drink or breathe through her skin following parasite-treatment due to the serious injuries she had sustained while trying to kill Big Boss during the hospital raid ; wearing too much clothing would lead to suffocation. After being defeated by Venom Snake in Afghanistan following a tense sniper duel, Quiet became a prisoner at Mother Base until she was allowed to accompany Venom Snake on missions as a buddy. Her weapons included two lethal sniper rifles nicknamed Wicked Butterfly and Sinful Butterfly as well as the non-lethal Guilty Butterfly. She told her superior that she hadn't killed her target yet as "the man in the next bed [Ishmael] had seen [her] face. After fighting Ishmael off and attempting to strangle Ahab, she was pelted with a bottle of medical grade ethanol, allowing Ishmael to light her on fire. However, despite being immolated, she still proved to be determined to try and kill Ahab, resulting in her being doused with another set of chemicals that refueled the fire to an unbearable degree and caused her to fall out of a nearby window. Ultimately, she survived, although with severe enough injuries to force herself to be infected with a mutant strain of the "the one that covers" parasites used to create the Parasite Unit which managed to repair most of her physical damage, grant her superhuman speed, perception, durability, longevity, phasing and invisibility. It also allowed her to breathe through her skin and take in nutrients via photosynthesis or small showers, effectively removing the need for food, drinking or breathing.
