In the past few years identifying as trans has become part of the national and international conversation. People who identify as trans do not identify with the gender they were assigned at birth. This is called body dysmorphia. Some people who identify as trans do not experience body dysmorphia or experience very little body dysmorphia. They believe that their gender identity does not match the sex they were assigned at birth.
